An Inside Look at the War: Christine Darg reports from the Israel Allies Foundation Chairman's Conference in Jerusalem for 22 visiting lawmakers from around the globe

Despite war, 22 Christian parliamentarians representing governments all over the globe put their feet on holy soil to make a statement of solidarity with the beleaguered Jewish state at this time. 

It was the largest delegation of legislators to visit Israel since the October 7 atrocities, and it was an extremely welcome show of support and solidarity. 

Israel is struggling with trauma to regain a sense of normal society and economy ever since thousands of Hamas terrorists stormed Israel's borders in an orgy of violence.

More Jews were murdered October 7, 2023 than any other day since the Holocaust, and a new wave of antisemitism was triggered. 

The Israel Allies Foundation (IAF) has forged international links with 52 parliamentary delegations to champion Israel’s biblical claims.

As guests of the IAF Chairman’s Conference, the Christian politicians toured kibbutzim that were assaulted by Hamas terrorists. The lawmakers were full of sorrow at the devastation and pledged to defund the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) because some UNRWA staff were involved in the October 7 Hamas massacres and hostages.

Furthermore, the IAF Chairman’s Conference today drafted a resolution strongly condemning Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism as well as Iran’s participation in the October 7 massacres.

Meanwhile the United Nations and the International Court of Justice seem to be lined up against Israel.

Even the Eurovision song contest threatens to boycott Israel.

But God never called Israel to be a part of Europe nor to be like other nations.

God gave the Promised Land to the Jewish people to be a platform for his oracles, his Messiah and for the Word of the Lord to go forth from Jerusalem.

Israeli Intelligence Minister Gila Gamliel told the conference that UNRWA must be ended “once and for all,” and that other international humanitarian and food organizations can serve as alternatives to funnel aid to Palestinians.

Her remarks came amid mounting evidence directly implicating Palestinian UNRWA employees in Hamas’s Oct. 7 massacre, and an unprecedented diplomatic battle over the future of the organization.

“So many in the world fail to understand that we are fighting for our existence,” Minister Gamliel told the conference. “They brutally raped women who just wanted to enjoy a music festival and kidnapped them to Gaza to continue using them as sex slaves, in the words of a captured Hamas terrorist who told us about their plans for the kidnapped. They abducted over 250 Israelis, including infants, children, the elderly and a Holocaust survivor, as well as many foreign nationals.”

Delegates were briefed by Brigadier General Amir Avivi as well as other top leaders including Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz, members of Knesset and Palestinian Media Watch. 

Gen. Avivi reviewed the wasted years of Israel attempting to overcome a religious evil with concessions, naïve optimism and economic promises coming out of the Oslo Accords. 

The visiting lawmakers expressed fervency in their desire to uphold Judeo-Christian values.

Several of the African parliamentarians are competing for their countries to be the first to open an embassy in Jerusalem

.Although the Marxist president of Brazil accused Israel of genocide, shamefully comparing Israel’s war with Hamas to the Holocaust, another brave lawmaker, Deputada Geovania de Sá, organized a pro-Israel rally in Sao Paulo, Brazil —the largest ever in her country.

The IAF delegates were deeply touched by a speech by Rachel Goldberg, one of the parents of the hostages still being held by Hamas. 

All 22 parliamentarians were given the “Friends of Zion” award from the Friends of Zion Museum—an honor usually awarded to heads of state.

IAF president Josh Reinstein was asked how Israel found such a loyal ally like Guatemala, which has already moved its embassy to Jerusalem.

Reinstein answered, “Three words—Fidel Reyes Lee,” naming the deputy whose influence in Guatemala’s Congress has resulted in schools teaching on the Holocaust, a national holiday honoring Israel and many other pro-Israel deeds. 

“Fidel Reyes Lee shows what one individual can do who cares about the Bible and Israel,” Reinstein said.

Various speakers condemned UNRWA’s school books containing antisemitic material that fosters hatred and incites violence as a means of resistance against the Jewish people.

The central message of the IAF Chairman’s Conference was “Israel is on the front lines.”  Israel is only the first target of jihadism. Therefore Israel’s fight is the fight of all democracies, said Intelligence Minister Gamliel, adding that “our fight is not just against Hamas, or Islamic Jihad, or Hezbollah, or the Houthis, or the Shiite terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq. They are all mere tentacles of the real enemy, the ruthless and bloodthirsty leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This is the head of the octopus which seeks destruction, savagery and enslavement of the region under its Shi'ite revolutionary ideology. We must stand together in righteous defiance. This is a battle between good and evil, and our shared future of peace, prosperity and security is at stake.”

Minister Gamaliel concluded her talk on a positive note with Isaiah 62: 1,

“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her vindication shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.”
