When Prayer Becomes An Answer to Prayer!

God Sets Watchmen Upon Jerusalem's Walls Until Jesus Returns

The Isaiah62 global prayer initiative could not possibly be more timely, coinciding with the rocket attacks on Israel.

For those of us who have prayed for decades for Israel and for the Church to understand the times, the global Isaiah62 prayer call is a big answer to prayer!

We reject antisemitism and anti-Zionism because God himself has whistled [Zechariah 10: 8] for the Jewish people, summoning them to return. No power on earth can stop the God of Israel. The rockets fired all over southern and central Israel cannot stop God’s momentum.

“You who call on the LORD shall take no rest for yourselves, nor give Him any rest until He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth—” This is the Watchman’s Call. But it’s also a corporate prayer duty. God has promised to meet us on the ground of earnest and constant prayer. The history of prayer is full of marvels. Persistent prayer ends in praise. Jerusalem will be established, and will become the praise — the glory — of the earth. This is our prayer goal!

So why do I as an intercessor care? Why am I happy that after many decades of prayer for Israel and the region that a global 3-week fasting prayer initiative was called this month? Here is why:

Many years ago, during a period of fasting and prayer, I experienced an epic dream. In my dream I was standing here in Jerualem on Mt. Zion, and I saw angry nations advancing because the Jews were once again in possession of Jerusalem and the Promised Land. The nations were shaking their fists. In the dream suddenly from heaven I saw the Shekinah glory of God, and I heard the Lord say that I must stand with Israel when all nations turn against Israel. This has surely happened because the United Nations General Assembly has passed more resolutions critical of Israel than against all other nations combined!

In the dream I also saw a word —hegemony—sitting on top of a huge pillar. I looked up hegemony in the dictionary. It means control, dominion, sovereignty, describing the territorial spirit that covets and usurps the Holy Land which was specifically granted to Israel by God. The chant “From the river to the sea Palestine shall be free” is a hegemonic spirit. It claims all of the Promised Land. Maps in Palestinian textbooks pretend that Israel doesn’t exist.

What God said to me in my epic dream I believe he wants all Bible-believing Christians to do, and that is, to stand with Israel when all nations turn against Israel. God knows Israel is not perfect but he has brought the Jewish people home for redemption, and he expects Israel’s half brothers to make room for the Jewish people.

God refers to Israel in Zechariah 2: 8 as the apple of his eye. For this is what the LORD Almighty says: "whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye.” To deny Israel her place in the sun is to hate Israel’s God and to poke him in the eye. You can’t despise God’s people and claim to worship God. 

Here’s the bottom line: Do we really believe what the Bible teaches about Israel? As believers, do we lean towards Rome, or are we looking biblically for redemption coming again to Jerusalem? The Bible teaches that nations and individuals who have hated Israel will be cursed and separated by Messiah. When the Good Shepherd returns, in Matthew Chapter 25 he said he will separate sheep nations from goat nations. This separation will be according to the rule of Genesis 12: 3, “I will bless those who bless the Jewish people and I will curse him [down to the individual] who curses Israel.”
