Leaders in Israel are calling for a National Day of Prayer on Monday 6 November and are inviting evangelical Christians globally to join. This unity is yet another example of Romans 8: 28 of God causing everything to work together for good.
Rabbi Yehudah Glick, a former Member of the Knesset, wrote a letter signed by members of the Knesset calling on the Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel and the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi to call for a day of prayer to commemorate the 30th day since the massacre of more than 1,400 Israelis by Hamas. In Jewish tradition, close relatives are considered mourners for twelve months. Traditionally, families gather on the eve of the 30th day to share support, recite prayers and Psalms, and to give charity in the merit of the deceased.
Proverbs 17: 17 declares that a friend loves at all times and is born for adversity.
Can you imagine the stress upon the tiny nation of Israel at this time?
Kibbutzniks were minding their own business on the sabbath of October 7 when suddenly barbaric terrorists broke into their homes and committed the most heinous murders, even butchering little babies.
Now this just war is being drawn out in urban warfare in Gaza while thousands of Israelis have been evacuated out of their homes both in the north for security reasons because of Hezbollah’s treats in Lebanon, and in the south due to the destruction of their homes by Hamas terrorists.
There is not a single Israeli family unaffected in some way. The stress and sorrow is compounded by the ugly anti-Israel protests going on around the world and on college campuses.
Think of the toll of stress upon the hostages and families of the hostages, knowing that 240 of their babies and loved ones are in the hands of brutal terrorists. And the soldiers--cherished sons, husbands, fathers-- must fight men who have become demon-possessed beasts.
But in Gaza there are also innocent civilians and even some Christians whose lives are in grave danger. They are miserable slaves to the billionaire Hamas overlords. James 5: 1-3, portends their fate!
“Come now, you who are rich, weep and wail over the misery to come upon you. Your riches have rotted and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and consume your flesh like fire. You have hoarded treasure in the last days.”

As an intercessor, mother and grandmother, the burden of the Lord is heavy. I could sense my blood pressure arising. I’m reminded that the great intercessor Rees Howells died in his early 70s due to prolonged stress of great prayer battles during World War 2. It's time to meditate on divine healing, appropriating the promises of God, like Abraham, who not consider the mortality of his own body but made God's promises his priority and reality. Andrew Murray's “Divine Healing” is one of my "go-to" resources and I recommend its devotionals as a review and health booster for these End-times of stress:

Where is the God of Israel in this present war? He is watching very closely and in fact HATES the gloating of the world over the calamities of the Jews.
The following is a portion of an important prophetic word from the LORD given by Lance Lambert, of blessed memory, on Mt. Carmel in 1986. I believe this word perfectly describes events that are unfolding. Let us seize the day for the coming of the Lord is very near!
". . . And hear this! Do not fear the power of the Kremlin, nor the power of the Islamic Revolution, for I plan to break both of them through Israel. I will bring down their pride and their arrogance, and shatter them because they have blasphemed My Name. In that day I will avenge the blood of all the martyrs and of the innocent ones whom they have slaughtered. I will surely do this thing for they have thought that there was no one to judge them. But I have seen their ways and I have heard the cries of the oppressed and of the persecuted and I will break their power and make an end of them. Be therefore prepared for when all this comes to pass, to you will be given the last great opportunity to preach the gospel freely to all the nations. . . . "

I can not begin to imagine the depth of the hurt being caused by these agents of Satan!
I am praying earnestly for God to protect the Jewish people and for their salvation!
